MANUFACTURING

Electronics:

The electronic sector is moving fast to adopt the 2D marked code in order to overcome poor or defective label placement, especially when space constraints are a problem on PCB boards. The availability of IR-Cut filter allows the Matrix 200™ to be positioned very near to the laser marker without any reader problems. The Matrix 200™ works very well on large PCB boards, coupled with the ID-NET™ connection, the number of elements in the system is reduced making the overall solution cheaper than ever. Matrix 200™ Verification Capability and the possibilities to activate output lines, helps to detect badly marked PCBs and prevents wrong placement. Lastly, the Matrix 200™ can operate in electrostatic backgrounds thanks to the ESD version. This technology prevents damage coming from electrostatic discharges by a nickel covering and from laser noises by an embedded YAG filter. The Matrix 200™ can be integrated in several systems with ease.

Pharmaceutical:

Code reading in the Pharmaceutical industry is used for quality control and product identification for most products and manufacturing. Packaging, distribution and hospital pharmacy are some of the areas where bar code has potential applications.

Moreover the need to identify drugs at an item level (from the production to the bedside) requires the placement of very small codes directly marked on single drug package.

Beside the package traceability (currently done also through direct marked codes on vial surface), the pharmaceutical industry needs traceability of drugs for production purposes (i.e. recipe contents) or recall purposes (drug names, ID numbers and a lot numbers).

Food & Beverage:

Due to strong pressure by local regulations/initiative, the food & beverage industry requires full traceability both at single items level (bottles, cans, brick, cartons) with small and color codes and at complete package level with standard barcodes. These applications are often in harsh environment with humidity, steam and water presence.

Automotive:
